2018 Farm Crew
Jessie grew up in Halifax, studied at Mount Allison, and after a few years of traveling and volunteering on farms stumbled on Waldegrave Farm and hasn’t left since. Jessie was an apprentice in 2015, and has been working here for the last three years. She is passionate about food sovereignty and community development issues as well as growing good food.
Rebecca grew up in Halifax and is happy to have made her way back to the Maritimes after several years away. After working last summer as an apprentice, she is excited to be back here working at Waldegrave Farm full-time. The thrill and satisfaction of producing beautiful vegetables to feed the community were enough to bring her back for another season. Rebecca is eager to continue expanding her knowledge on local and sustainable food systems, and while she may be uncertain of what her future holds, she knows that growing food will have to be a part of it.
